Prior to becoming a career management consultant, Ms. Howatt served for seven years as the first Director of the Johns Hopkins University School of Professional Studies at The Washington, DC Center. The mission of this school is to provide the necessary skills and education for the professional advancement of adults. Ms. Howatt established the Hopkins presence in the highly competitive Washington academic market by successfully developing and executing an aggressive marketing plan which included the building of long-term relationships with all sectors of the Washington Area community: corporate, military, government and non-profit. She was an active member of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the American Society for Training and Development, the American Marketing Association, and was a founding member of WECARE, the Washington Educational Coalition for Adults Returning to Education. Before her position at Hopkins, Ms. Howatt managed marketing and training functions within two major corporations. She personally experienced corporate layoffs which led to career advancement and increased career satisfaction. She brings her positive personal experience, combined with a strong coaching and marketing perspective, to her work with individuals who are in pursuit of career change.

Ms. Howatt holds an MS in Public Relations from American University, and a BA in Secondary Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Her career also includes positions at both institutions in University Admissions.
